About us

Our Philosophy

We believe your landscaping can be more than just beautiful.

It can be a thriving ecosystem that, once established, largely maintains itself while offering you and your family fresh, healthy food, a space to gather and relax – a space you love to be in.

Regenible Gardens partners with nature to create low-maintenance, highly productive foodscapes that restore ecosystems and support local wildlife.

Rebecca Carter – Regenerator-in-Chief

Rebecca grew up in a series of Western U.S. states as a nature-loving Army brat. She is the granddaughter of an Idaho rancher and daughter of a genuine cowgirl.

Rebecca started growing food 35 years ago in a backyard in Tucson. She studied ecological and development anthropology in college, which sparked her interest in the environmental aspects of food production; indeed, food systems were the focus of her PhD in Cultural Anthropology.

She was a USAID Environment Officer for seven years. Then she spent nine years with the World Resources Institute (WRI), a global environmental policy think tank, culminating as Director of Climate Adaptation. While there, she conducted research and published reports on transformative climate adaptation for food systems and designed an online tool to help farmers understand climate risks.

An avid gardener, she has aspired to turn the backyards of her homes into permaculture paradises. Her current 0.28-acre homestead in suburban Annapolis, Maryland, provides about half of her annual food needs from veggie plots, fruit and berry bushes and duck eggs. She looks forward to sharing her expertise and passion for growing food and regenerating nature with you.
